The Work under this Project consisted of the partial removal and replacement of approximately 20,000 total SF of 2 ply roof system at multiple separate roof areas at the school. The replacement roof system was a two-ply modified bitumen system set in cold adhesive with heat welded seams and additional roof cants and crickets. The project replaced 48 new roof drains, two of which were to be relocated to a new location. A new duct enclosure was constructed against the existing auditorium wall. The enclosure was finished in metal siding and the roofing insulated. The new enclosure roof was installed to drain to an external gutter system. Work also included temporary removal and re-installation of the existing roof top mounted HVAC equipment in order to accomplish roof repairs and restoration beneath. The project also included application of a white, 2-coat fluid applied bio-based polyurethane roof system over the entire school roof (including backs of parapets), approximately 207,300 SF. The white top polyurethane coating is a highly reflective energy saving coating with the potential for energy savings to the school system.
